What makes Mohs surgery different from other skin cancer treatments?

Mohs micrographic surgery uses detailed mapping techniques and complete microscopic examination of all removed tissue. This allows surgeons to pinpoint cancer invisible to the naked eye and remove even the smallest microscopic roots. The result is removal of as little normal skin as possible while achieving the highest cure rate.

Who performs Mohs surgery at Colorado Dermatology?

Dr. Matthew Mahlberg and Dr. Scott Mahlberg are both fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeons. Combined, they have performed over 20,000 Mohs surgery cases.

What skin conditions do you treat?

We treat skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma), acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, warts, hives, keloids, sun damage, and many other conditions. We also offer cosmetic treatments including injectables, laser therapies, and skin rejuvenation procedures.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept a wide range of insurance plans including Medicare, commercial plans, and HMO/PPO coverage. Our appointment form allows you to specify your insurance details.

Are clinical trials available?
